FIAT is refreshing its Tipo model line-up with the introduction of new Mirror and Sport versions, following the Street model. The company says that the new Sport version offers a distinctive personality and a sporty character whilst the new Mirror is focused on connectivity.

Based on the S-Design, the Tipo Sport adds a raft of exclusive design elements to create dynamic style. These include a new front bumper with splitter, side skirts and black exterior door handles. The rear diffuser and roof spoiler complete the look and are said to create a nod to the racing world which has inspired its dynamic look. The Tipo Sport trim is available only as a five-door hatchback.

The S-Design also gets some updates with black fog-light bezels enhancing the gloss black grille, mirror caps, and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Inside, a new total black interior enhances the standard leather and fabric seats, with embellished double-stitched seams and cross-pattern techno-leather upholstery, plus tinted rear windows to create a sportier feel. Connectivity also comes as standard, with Uconnect seven-inch Nav HD LIVE touchscreen, which is Apple CarPlay-ready and Android Auto compatible on both models.

The S-Design and Sport models are offered with bi-colour paint for the first time on a Tipo. There is a contrasting black roof that can be combined with red bodywork, for example, whilst further paint options will be available soon.

The engine line-up of the new Tipo S-Design and Sport models includes the 1.4-litre 95bhp and 120bhp petrol, both combined with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.

Replacing the outgoing Easy Plus trim, Mirror is a mid-range offering with a balance of technology and style. Connectivity includes Uconnect seven-inch HD LIVE touchscreen, which is Apple CarPlay-ready and Android Auto compatible. The Tipo Mirror gets new blue livery plus chrome details including door handles, lower window line, lower grille surround, fog light bezels, mirror caps and a Mirror badge on the pillar. Diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels complete look.

The Tipo Mirror is offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, including the 1.4-litre 95bhp and 120bhp petrol and 1.6-litre 120bhp diesel engines, all paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Tipo prices range from £14,905 for the Easy 1.4-litre 95bhp, with free finance available on all versions, plus the offer of three years’ servicing and maintenance for £200.

The Tipo Mirror 1.6-litre 120bhp model costs £21,110.
