Lexus RX and IS specials

30 January 2020

LEXUS has introduced new grades, equipment enhancements and a special version of the IS F Sport to take its luxury RX SUV and executive sport saloon into 2020.

The new RX and seven-seat RX L SUV models gain a new entry-level grade that includes a raft of innovative technology, safety and comfort features.

Connectivity in particular is catered for with a 12.3-inch multimedia display with touchscreen functions, six USB ports around the cabin and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. There is also a range of personalised connected services via Lexus Link.

The RX and RX L also get the latest generation Lexus Safety System+ that can recognise a range of collision risks, alert the driver and apply the brakes. Triple-eye LED headlights with automatic high beam, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and sonar are also included.

The RX and RX L gain a power tailgate, paddle shifts on the steering wheel, a wireless smartphone charger, heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery and eight-way power-adjustable front seats.

There is an optional Premium Pack comprising leather upholstery, front seat ventilation, hands-free tailgate operation with a kick sensor, heated steering wheel, auto-dimming and reverse-tilting functions for the door mirrors.

The Tech and Safety Pack adds a colour head-up display, blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert with automatic braking. Also on offer at additional cost is a panoramic roof for the RX and a smaller sunroof to the RX L.

The new flagship RX L Takumi comes with the option of two individual captain’s seats in place of the three-seat bench in the second row. These provide more leg and elbow-room, while also freeing up more leg and foot space for the third row passengers. Both seats have a power-folding function to create an extended, flat load space.

Additionally there is a limited edition version of the IS F Sport saloon with styling enhancements and extra equipment.

The new model is named I Blue to reflect the Japanese-style colouring

of the wooden steering wheel trim, panels around the window controls on the doors and inserts and stitching in the black and grey Tahara upholstery.

There are three exterior paint colours of blue, white and black, plus  ten-spoke 18-inch F Sport alloy wheels, black door mirror casings, a gloss black spindle grille mesh and gloss black garnishes framing the fog light recesses in the front bumper.

Additional equipment includes Lexus Premium Navigation with a ten-inch display, power-adjustable front seats with ventilation and a memory setting plus auto-folding and auto-dimming functions for the door mirrors.

Other details include aluminium sports pedals and scuff plates, sports suspension and sports front seats. There is an extra-cost Premium Pack that adds triple-LED headlights with automatic high beam, smart entry and start, reversing camera and steering wheel heater.

Both the SUVs and saloon models take to the roads this month.
